| For our present troubles are small and won’t last very long. Yet they produce for us a glory that vastly outweighs them and will last forever! So we don’t look at the troubles we can see now; rather, we fix our gaze on things that cannot be seen. For the things we see now will soon be gone, but the things we cannot see will last forever.
2 Corinthians 4:17-18
I must really thank God for a rather pleasant first day of school. Since I told myself on my twentieth birthday that this year I will learn to love, I will really learn because love is patient and kind. Love is not jealous or boastful or proud or rude. It does not demand its own way. It is not irritable, and it keeps no record of being wronged. It does not rejoice about injustice but rejoices whenever the truth wins out. Love never gives up, never loses faith, is always hopeful, and endures through every circumstance...love will last forever! (1 Corinthians 13:4-8)

| When I think I’m going under, part the waters, Lord. When I feel the waves around me, calm the sea. When I cry for help, O hear me, Lord, and hold our Your hand. Touch my life, still the raging storm in me. Knowing You love me through the burdens I must bear, Hearing Your footsteps, let me know I’m in Your care, And in the night of my life, You bring the promise of day, Here is my hand, show me the way.
Knowing You love me helps me face another day, Hearing Your footsteps drives the clouds and fears away, And in the tears of my life, I see the sorrow bore. Here is my pain, heal it once more.
-Part the Waters by Charles F. Brown I have been very troubled of late. Yet for some reasons, I "refused" to pray. So with a little reminder from the boyf yesterday, I said a little prayer before I slept. I felt a little better, at least things are off my chest and sent all the way upwards. This morning, my dear Father showed me this song through a brother which is such a comfort. Thank You! (:

| What a Friend we have in Jesus, all our sins and griefs to bear! What a privilege to carry everything to God in prayer! O what peace we often forfeit, O what needless pain we bear, All because we do not carry everything to God in prayer.
Have we trials and temptations? Is there trouble anywhere? We should never be discouraged; take it to the Lord in prayer. Can we find a friend so faithful who will all our sorrows share? Jesus knows our every weakness; take it to the Lord in prayer.
Are we weak and heavy laden, cumbered with a load of care? Precious Savior, still our refuge, take it to the Lord in prayer. Do your friends despise, forsake you? Take it to the Lord in prayer! In His arms He’ll take and shield you; you will find a solace there.
Blessed Savior, Thou hast promised Thou wilt all our burdens bear May we ever, Lord, be bringing all to Thee in earnest prayer. Soon in glory bright unclouded there will be no need for prayer Rapture, praise and endless worship will be our sweet portion there.

| I have a paper to study for and as usual, anxiety creeps in. I prayed before I began studying and was very encouraged when I opened my mailbox and saw this from Bro LKY while taking a break:

| Hebrews 4:14-16 14 Seeing then that we have a great High Priest who has passed through the heavens, Jesus the Son of God, let us hold fast our confession. 15 For we do not have a High Priest who cannot sympathize with our weaknesses, but was in all points tempted as we are, yet without sin. 16 Let us therefore come boldly to the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy and find grace to help in time of need. | If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all liberally and without reproach, and it will be given to him. But let him ask in faith, with no doubting, for he who doubts is like a wave of the sea driven and tossed by the wind. | |
